Meet the Owners!
We are Lisa and Karmen Kremin, owners and caretakers of the land and resident wildlife at Island View Resort. Along with our dog Kelly we look forward to having you stay with us! We enjoy fishing, camping and being by the lake which is a big part of what brought us to Island View.
Recreation
Family facilities include a playground, half-basketball court, horseshoe pit, ping pong room, fire rings along the lake shore as well as a large bonfire pit, and a communal gathering area perfect for large gatherings and potlucks. There are canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, and paddle boats that are available on a first-come-first-serve basis for all guests of the resort.
A laundry facility is available on-site as well as a fish cleaning hut, bicycles, a collection of board games, and books that have been donated by past guests for community use.
In the Office, we have for sale ice, apparel, ice cream treats, bait and premium gasoline for both rental and guest-owned boats.
About the Area
The Sand Lake area has been home to many famous and notorious individuals throughout the years and tales of their exploits abound. Island View Resort has hosted its' own share of area history ranging from the importation of Chicago area dance bands every weekend to the birth of a famous Wisconsin water ski show
right out in our bay.
A few minutes travel north of the resort lies the famous Lost Forty Acres - a chance to see virgin Minnesota timber forever saved from the lumberjack's ax by a survey error.
The nearby Cutfoot Sioux Ranger Station provides maps to a walking tour of Indian burial mounds and hosts nature classes nearly every week during the summer.
